Soothing Charcoal Milk for a Stomach Ache
If you’re dealing with stomach discomfort, this gentle remedy can help. The warm milk soothes your stomach, while activated charcoal works to absorb unwanted substances that may be causing irritation. Plus, a hint of vanilla and spice makes it a comforting and delicious option.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup non-dairy milk (almond, coconut, or oat)
- 1/3 teaspoon activated charcoal (or 1 opened capsule)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for flavor)
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- A sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Warm the milk – Heat your non-dairy milk on the stovetop until warm but not boiling. Then, remove it from heat.
- Mix in the charcoal and vanilla – Stir in the activated charcoal and vanilla extract.
- Sweeten – Add honey or maple syrup and mix well. For a smoother texture, use a blender or frother.
- Garnish and serve – Pour into a cup and sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon for extra warmth and flavor.
For best results, enjoy this drink on an empty stomach and wait at least two hours before taking any medications or supplements, as activated charcoal can interfere with absorption.
