Exploring Pumpkin Seeds as a Natural Parasite Cleanse
I want to emphasize that this is just my opinion. It’s vital to do your own research and find what works best for you.
Recently, I was on the hunt for a simple and quick method to eliminate parasites, and I came across a protocol that intrigued me. I’m sharing it here so I can refer back to it when needed and hopefully help someone else along the way.
The Benefits of Pumpkin Seeds
Pumpkin seeds have been a part of herbal medicine for centuries. They’re known for their ability to support:
- healthy gut bacteria
- improve digestion
- reduce the risk of kidney stones
- soothe prostate inflammation.
One of the standout features of pumpkin seeds is their anthelmintic properties, meaning they can effectively combat intestinal worms. The amino acid cucurbitacin found in these seeds is toxic to many parasites. When consumed, pumpkin seeds can paralyze these worms, allowing your body to naturally expel them.
Not only that, but pumpkin seeds are also rich in fiber, which helps flush out parasites from the gastrointestinal tract. They contain immune-boosting nutrients that strengthen your body’s defenses against infections, including those caused by parasites.
After the Cleanse: Gut Repair
Once you’ve completed a parasite cleanse, it’s crucial to focus on repairing your gut lining. For six weeks, consider using one of the following options:
- take one tablespoon of L-glutamine twice daily
- drink 1 cup marshmallow root tea or 20 drops of tincture
- 1 cup slippery elm tea
- mushroom blend that includes lion’s mane, reishi, and turkey tail (usually a powder or tincture)
Maintaining good hygiene and a balanced diet is essential for preventing worm infections. Eating healthy meals not only strengthens your body’s defenses but also boosts the production of digestive enzymes, creating an environment that’s less hospitable for parasites.
A healthy gut microbiome makes it difficult for parasites to thrive. While more studies are needed to fully understand the relationship between gut parasites and human health, it’s clear that keeping your gut healthy is key.
Are Parasites Beneficial?
Interestingly, parasites thrive in environments filled with heavy metals, chemicals, and radiation. By binding to these harmful substances in your body, they may help protect you from their long-term effects. However, it’s also important to note that parasites can steal essential minerals from your body, which can lead to depletion and other health issues. So, when you’re working to eliminate parasites, remember that they may release toxins back into your system and a healthy body will detox these naturally. If you think your immune system is compromised consider using a binder during your detox.
Ingredients ½ cup dried pumpkin seeds (non-salted, non-roasted) Honey (local, raw) Steps 1. Grind pumpkin seeds into a powder. 2. Take 1 tablespoon of the pumpkin seed powder 3. Mix it with 1 tablespoon of honey to make a paste To use Take the pumpkin seed-honey paste on an empty stomach after drinking or taking a laxative, I use Cascara Sagrada capsules. Take another serving after several hours. Note: Children may take this recipe but do not use laxatives such as cascara Sagrada. Cascara Sagrada is very potent and may cause dehydration. Instead, kids could take it with apple juice, prune juice, or carrot juice. |
The Bottom Line
Even if pumpkin seeds don’t turn out to be the ultimate solution for parasite cleansing, they still offer a host of health benefits. Plus, you might enjoy a few good bowel movements along the way—a little bonus we can all appreciate! If you’re dealing with constipation, check out my previous post for more tips.
