Review: Seed Storage Envelopes from Temu – A Mixed Bag
As someone who enjoys gardening each summer, I’ve made it a habit to save seeds from my plants year after year. Previously, I stored my seeds in standard white envelopes, but they weren’t ideal—seeds would often spill out, and the envelopes were too big for tiny seeds.
When I saw a pack of 50 small seed envelopes on Temu for just $1.55, I decided to give them a try. Here’s my review:
The Good
- Compact Design: These envelopes are smaller than standard ones, which makes them more suitable for tiny seeds.
- Handy Labels: Each envelope has lines printed on the front for writing down the seed type and other details, which is a nice touch.
- Affordable Price: At less than two dollars for 50 envelopes, they’re definitely budget-friendly.
The Not-So-Good
- Thin Material: The paper is very flimsy and feels cheap. Even when sealed with the adhesive strip, the envelopes are floppy and don’t hold their shape well.
- Storage Issues: The envelopes don’t store neatly on their own because of the thin paper. While some people suggest using a binder with clear sleeves to organize them (like baseball card collectors do), I didn’t purchase one. Without a storage system, they feel messy and unstructured.
Final Thoughts
While these envelopes are functional and affordable, they’re not the sturdiest option for seed storage. I plan to use up this batch but will look for something more durable next time. A sturdier envelope or small resealable bags might work better, especially for gardeners who save a lot of seeds.
